behold the next skate video that i am fully backing; fallen footwear’s “ride the sky“. it’s a jamie thomas company, so prepare yourself for all kinds of jumping down stuff and gnarly rails. plus, and you can catch a glimpse of this in the trailer, josh harmony gets completely taken down by russian police.

all right, i have a brand spankin’ new trick i’m ready to share with the world. i call it “the suck”. i came up with it the other day at the skatepark. it’s actually not very hard. so, feel free to rush right out and try it. or, make up your own variation.
first off, you’re going to want to set up like you’re about to nollie into a bank. but, instead of actually nollieing, you want to hit a rock and do a head-first somersault into the bank. next, you’re going to just go ahead and tumble all the way down to the bottom of the bank. finally, after you hit the bottom, just lay there in a heap and think about how much you hate everything. afterward, i like to drive home, take a bunch of ibuprofen, and go to bed early. but really, that’s just my personal take on the trick. maybe you would prefer to focus your board and go have a beer. whatever you feel in your heart, just go for it, man.
so basically, that’s it, “the suck”. if it takes you a couple tries before you feel like you pulled it solid, don’t worry about it. remember, the whole point of skateboarding is just to have fun. enjoy!!

it’s almost april, and that means a fresh new nike sb post is coming up fast. but, if you’re like me, maybe you’d like a sneak-peek. well sure, baby. i’ll give you what you want.
if you’re a big “rocky III” fan, you might want to keep an eye out for the ’clubber lang‘ dunk mid next month.
mr t is cool and all, but i still think that my favorite rocky villain was the russian, ivan drago. “i must break you.”

i swear, that j-lo allen said that one time at the skatepark. it was awesome.
well, i finally made it to the skatepark in 08. so, i guess that spring really is here, or was. i got two days of schralping in before it snowed again. i actually went up there three days. but, one day was dirty-little-kids-on-bikes day, so i split. you know, for being a complete pile of doody, the park can be pretty fun. so, here’s to another year of skating the sheridan park. holla!!

i miss uw. i had a lot of good times there. and, i was a lot closer to fort collins.
one of my favorite skate spots there was the double-3 set in front of the college of business. one year, chad and california-todd and i skated that place all the time. it was great.
but, like dylan said, “the times, they are a changin.” out with the old college of business, and in with the new. that includes the stairs out front. demolition begins some time in june. we’ll see if i can squeak in a visit to say a proper goodbye.

i love fort collins, and i love skateboarding. so, it just makes sense that my favorite shop should be the market. i try and stop in there every time i’m in fort collins. the guy that runs the place, andy, is awesome, super friendly, always remembers me, always down to talk about skating.
if you get a chance, stop by. they’re currently working on their first shop video. here’s a little write up from ‘college avenue’.

back in 05, dvs toured around premiering their “skate more” video. one of the early stops was the gothic theatre in denver. at the time, i didn’t know that any of the riders were actually going to be there, so i was stoked when i saw chico and mikey taylor outside. i’m a huge skate nerd, and i really like to fan out on pros. i know, it’s kind of lame, cory’s brought this to my attention, but whatever. like nas said, “you can hate me now.” i’m going to keep pushing mongo too. anyway, i was waiting for c-murda, himself, to show up, so i went up to the bar to grab a beer. bar was closed, so i just sat down up there. right before they start the video, all of the dvs pros come and sit down. awesome!! i’m sitting right next to kerry getz. i’ve got chico, mikey, torey, jereme, gavin, zered, all sitting right by me.Â
then, after the video, i got all of their autographs, while cory stood a long ways off and pretended he didn’t know me.
oh yeah, i met zared bassett there. i don’t think a lot of the kids knew who he was. which is a shame, because the guy is really good. i guess it’s just part of being an east coaster.
